You cannot go wrong spending only $2.20 on an ice cream cone of your choice of size small, medium, large or xtra super SIZE. The service and employees are always friendly and willing to make you happy. The ambiance is not to brag about because it's an outside stand which has been apart of Pittsfield for over half a century. You will definitely enjoy this little spot for desert.
Great ice cream and a lot of it for cheap! Can't recommend this place highly enough. It's old school chocolate, vanilla or twist soft serve. You can get sprinkles, cherry dip or chocolate dip. The portions are huge. A local gem for sure! Love you King Cone!
Don't be put off by King Cone's appearance. This place is a find! It goes beyond the huge portions and reasonable prices. King Cone produces a unique and fun experience with their boats. I got the Oreo sprinkles and I'd highly recommend those. The service was great, too. Don't forget to tip!
There are two great debates in Pittsfield. King Cone versus Dairy Kone is one. Hot Dog Ranch versus Teo's is the other. It is a religious debate. I will not get in the middle of it. And, I think it has to do with where you were born. In any case, the King Cone focus is on soft serve. Lots of flavor. Generous servings and a great price. Menu is somewhat limited to soft serve. If you are looking for frozen yogurt, vegan ice cream or something else, you might want to look somewhere else.
I grew up in Pittsfield in the 80's so this place has always held an iconic glow as a Berkshire hole-in-the-wall staple. I was thrilled to find out recently that it was re-opening, and just in time for a visit back "home." Even better to learn it would now be employee-owned. Go, King Kone crew! We went there after a big dinner, so we all ordered kid size cones, and even the "kid" size were PLENTY big enough for these full-size adults. Delicious chocolate/vanilla twists of creamy soft serve on a simple plain cone. We all got the most basic cones, but they had a number of toppings and sundae options too. They are operating on a "pay what you can" scale, and I really hope this works out for them! The only down side is that there's nowhere to sit outside while you eat your soft serve. If they can set up some tables and chairs outside, it would be that much better. FYI, this place is spelled King Kone, not King Cone.
